I run Redacted Systems, a small studio in Sydney.

My first website went up on GeoCities in 1999, built on a 5 Star General, a beige-box PC sold in New Zealand. It was about Y2K.

My first game was Wolfenstein 3D, which explains a lot about the dark mode.

Early in 2025, AI moved from a side interest to the centre of how I work. Most of what I build there is custom: n8n workflows, Postgres underneath, and Kubernetes to run it all. It sits inside the automations I build for clients and the tools I run the studio on.

Two of my first clients made gear: a wet-weather outdoor brand that needed a brand and a store from scratch, and an Australian maker of belts and pouches that needed its store, ads and email rebuilt and run. The work has widened since, into commerce brands and the automations that keep them running.

Redacted Systems is me plus the tools I’ve built for the job: site audits, reporting that runs on one command, and workflows that take repeat work off a small team. You deal with me from the first call to the last fix.

  1. 01

    Plan the pages first

    I work out what the site has to do and in what order before anything gets a colour.

  2. 02

    Label it honestly

    Every record says what it is: a client build, a managed store or a concept.

  3. 03

    Show it working early

    You review a live staging link from early in the build.

  4. 04

    You own it

    Code, accounts and content sit in your name.

  5. 05

    Automate what pays back

    If a workflow won’t save more time than it costs to build and run, I’ll tell you.
